Grok is in serious trouble. You were watching the magic show when he killed his partner, Rollo the Magnificent, on stage. You may not have had a front row seat, but it was tough to miss the chimp throwing down a sandbag from the rigging, striking the magician and snapping his neck.
An accident? Or did someone manipulate the situation and make a chump of the chimp?
It’s up to you to unravel the web of deceit and lies that make up The Parker Carnival and Sideshow Extravaganza. Who better to help Grok prove his innocence than a police detective who witnessed the whole thing?
As the investigating officer, you will: • Explore the story and game in any order you like • Question carnies and carny workers • Search their living spaces and performance areas for clues and evidence • Create a list of suspects • Review lab reports on the suspects and evidence • Explore detailed background information on the carnival, its employees, and its owners • Make your case by selecting a suspect along with the supporting evidence
Featuring a fourteen chapter novel, written by Rollo’s assistant, Angel Rossini, that explores the backgrounds of the carnies. It delves into the depths of despair, the delight and the discovery of carny life, and what made them choose it.
For readers, this interactive murder mystery will bring many hours of pleasure, amusement, and thought.
Like all Tappable Tales™, game play consists of reading, exploring, thinking and tapping, and is designed to create a unique reading and discovery experience.
I got a new iPad mini and tried out this app first because it had been recommended to me. I've had a great time getting to know the characters and trying to solve the murder. I haven't even downloaded any more apps, I've been enjoying it so much. Lots of humor, suspense... A fun app!
Grok is fun and entertaining. A unique group of characters and one very unusual chimp. Story chapters (which appear randomly as the game progresses) bring the characters to life like they do in a good book. Come to think of it, it's more like a book or a mystery novel than a game. I'm still uncovering new chapters and love reading them and the way they tie into the game. I love the way I control the how the plot unfolds.
I have always liked games that make you think. I also like games where you find yourself trying to work out a puzzle hours or even days after playing. Grok certainly fits in this category. Hours after starting this game I thought I had seen everything only to find I was only 30 percent of the way in! This of course forced me to go looking for something I had missed then the game started revealing more characters and places. Just when you think you have solved the mystery the game throws you a curveball and sends you in a new direction
For me though the highlight is the chapters of a novel that reveal themselves as you get deeper into the game. they are so well written you actually do not want the game to end before finding every chapter.
Great entertainment and certainly worth the cost in terms of the hours of entertainment it delivers
